What do you need to know about the Google “Tensor” chip?
Tensor is Google’s in-house developed SoC (System-on-Chip), previously known as the “Whitechapel” project. Unlikely Apple’s Silicon M1 Chip, Google designed the “Tensor” chip to optimise the device performance. So in future, you will see Tensor chip in more devices like smartwatches, phones, tablets and Chromebook laptops.

Also, Tensor may improve the battery life for its Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel Buds, and Chromebook. Of course, Google Smart Home devices are no different and will benefit from the new Tensor SoC.
Indeed, Google electronics will get LTS (Long-Term Support) for software updates with the newly designed Tensor chip. Final Thoughts:
Overall, Google’s upcoming new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro looks promising compared to the current market trend. But better to wait for the official specifications and features information before coming to any conclusion.
However, the “Tensor” chip seems the focus of the new Pixel series, which you may see in other devices too in future. Google is building a whole ecosystem like Apple, and the future is there. You won’t feel surprised even when you see EV vehicles like cars and scooters in future manufactured by Google.
